After some thinking i was looking at the idea of putting a bike engine in the back of my nova track car project. i was originally fitting a c20let with quaife straight cut box but it is getting to expensive. i know with a bike engine in a car the weight plays a big role. it will have all fiberglass panels and polycarbon windows.

i was thinking of going with a R1 engine but what other engines are out there for the same sort of money. the more power the better. i know i will be able to fabricate everything as i have fitted a c20xe in the back of my other nova.

it nearly looks to simple to do and all i really need is engine, some sort of chain driven lsd, shocks, petrol tank, hubs, shaft and brake setup. what do you think it would go like?

here is one in a fiesta.

I'd go with a busa engine if I was doing one. Lots of the minis go down that route.

That fiesta looks a fair bit of kit.

a busa engine would be nice but what sort of money do they go for? another thing is the engines only weight about 80kg where as the c20let and box weight about 220kg so there is a big difference.

I had a quick look on eBay looks to be about £1500ish. 197hp out of them too (the later engine)

that wouldn't be to bad. i will have to more research into them. i know a lot of autograss buggys and minis use them and they take some hammering on track.

turbo busa engine would be awesome!

1 turbo busa in the back and 1 under the bonnet 4x4 FTW

That would all soon get very very expensive lol

Busa engines are quite expensive due to demand, I'd look into Honda blackbird motors far more reliable and can be had for around £500

no help here but a mate has an r1 engine in the front of a mini. its a nice bit of kit seems to be the better way of doing it putting it in the front rather than the rear.

surely theres not much torque to a bike engine tho?
