Afternoon all, I am currently building my new nova from a sunroof shell, I removed the sunroof assembly last night for when the shell gets painted. It is going to be a track car interior with a weld in cage etc so I was wondering what others have done with sunroofs on similar builds?

Ideally I'd like to keep the glass on the exterior and then just blank the inside off? It could be sealed up and then some sort of headlining made to cover it over. I have already decided I am not plating up the hole for a few reasons. Worst case I will just put the whole sunroof assembly back in but it does weigh a considerable amount and isn't very nice to look at from the inside.

I haven't had a good look at it yet so I may end up answering my own questions next time I'm up there but just thought I'd see if anyone else had done something similar.

Thanks

Josh

I've got a carbon fibre sunroof blank for mine. Could be an option for you?

I did think about something like that but I didn't know how readily available they are, it doesn't have to be carbon, I am fitting polycarbonate windows so I suppose that may be an option?

I'm making up a metal plate that'll sit flush then rivet in, if worst came to worst I wouldn't want some plastic between my swede and the tarmac lol
