Hi, was doing some work on my nova and found I have an extra radiator looking bit.... What is it?

oil cooler, follow the hoses back from the cooler and you will see....

Thought as much from where the hoses go to. Was this a standard item on some XE's then?

It's a few inches deep

That's a rather large cooler
You'll find those pipes go to a sandwich plate above the oil filter on the oil pump which is hopefully thermostatically controlled so it doesn't over cool

I will have a look and get some more pics over the next few days - I had no idea it had one fitted! I now need to learn about them haha - also concerned about what you said about control..... Will have to investigate...

With that weld, it looks homemade, the core doesn't look like a typical Mocal jobbie. I guess if its survived it's up to the job.

It was off a frontera As far as I can remember mate, the boy had the pipes made to fit then
