Just like to add my voice to the others, I suspect there are plenty of us out here watching, just occasionally we'll chip in with the odd comment of encouragement. Mind you with your progress so far you don't seem to need much as you've already overtaken me and I've been working on mine for the thick end of a year...!

My excuse is that I seem to have more rust to deal with, it all looks so familiar when I read this thread...

As a matter of interest how are the inner wings up inside the turrets? Mine were non existent due to tin worm, thus

Hopefully yours are OK, but if not there not that difficult to fix.

Thank you for the comments, makes the whole thing seem worthwhile when others appreciate it too! I have decided to give up on getting it ready for this year and concentrate on building it to a better spec for next summer now, gives me more time to collect parts and plan things out really. Hopefully another update later this week once I get this rot cut out!

Thanks
Josh

Is that rad a tx Motorsport one that has some bad reviews? if yes what do you think of it?

Oh my god, my old shell lol

firstly, before you think I did any structural work on this then you're wrong ha. I bought it and made it into a GSi rep and apart from driving it
home 5 miles when I bought it I never actually drove the thing. I never took it through an mot and got it on the road. There's also a reason why I gave the shell away, Dave only wanted the doors and sunroof and I said he can take the shell with it.

However, so glad that you have saved it. Some really tidy work you've done. It is an Antibes, I think I've still got all the paper work for it, had a massive box full of stuff as the previous owner spent a bit on it. He also knew some cowboy mates and it went in for a lot of work a couple of times during his ownership as he binned it just after his first rebuild. That will explain why the White paint under the wrap was 3 different shades because some bellend couldn't match paint properly, and that's why I ended up vinyl wrapping it.

If you can make it look like I had but actually make it sound underneath I will love you forever and want it back. Few pics of how it was in my year of ownership

I haven't been active much this past year because I bought a house and been busy with that. Was just by luck that I stumbled across this thread, wasn't expecting it to be my old shell.

i wasn't saying you were blaming me ha, but just wanted to get the point across incase anybody thought it was my doing lol. I suppose that was the reason why I never got it on the road because I knew it wasn't up to standards. Was also the reason why I stripped it for parts and never even thought about advertising it as a whole car.

You've done the right thing though, people need to give these cars the effort they deserve and keep them on the road, will be worthwhile in the end. If I remember tomorrow I'll see if I've got all that paperwork and post it to you. I chucked a lot of stuff away but I think I kept all that stuff, hopefully anyway.

Keep up the good work!

Looks nice & clean; fancy putting a different inlet on it for a proper power curve / output? I see you did the exhaust.
