After a bit of help - my sisters 2002 Corsa 1.0 (3 cylinder lump) has picked up a missfire.

It runs fine for around 10 mins then it looses all power and engine management light comes on. It is literally gutless, I drove it today and it would not go over 40.

I have changed plugs & coil pack and no difference, has anybody experienced this before?

Cheers

Chris

My mates corsa was doing that. It was the crankshaft sensor iirc.

Thinking about it, it have a feeling it was the eml light.....what's the thoughts on that?

Could be coolant temp sensor, poss ecu, they are prone to playing up when they get warm or could be something else altogether.

It's missing a cylinder.

CTS is always a massive issue that people overlook.

Thanks for the help so far guys. I plugged it into a friends diagnostics tester and it said missfire on all cylinders - have fitted a new coil pack & plugs to it and it's still doing it! Is CTS a Coolant Temp Sensor? It's doing my head in! Any more help out there?

More likely to be cam or crank sensor it will run with either of them working albeit rough. If you unplug on of them and it dies, it will likely be the other one that is faulty.
There really isn't much else other than a maf and 2 lambda sensors.

As per my reply above, try the crankshaft sensor, my mate had the same symptoms as you've described and that was the problem.
