well if you thought vauxhalls rusted bad, look no further than my new project, its pretty sorry for itself really, its going to take alot of welding wire, sticker flex and paint , plus an engine build to get back on road...
the story goes ive been asking for the car for over seven years and its never been forsale, well stupidly i asked again, and he said yes, and even gave me a whole luton back van full of spares to get cracking with..

the van was packed with three engines, gearboxes , and untold rebuild stuff, most of it worth blood money to owners as it rarer than sport ****

https://scontent-b-lhr.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-xfp1/v/t1.0-9/10896857_892382797492293_3252831317862257729_n.jpg ?oh=4fafb730ca74376fb13522e7a866ff72&oe=5522D5AC

first job was to drag it out the ground like a sunken street lamp, it left the floor looking like this lol, had to free all four brakes off lol

https://scontent-a-lhr.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-xaf1/v/t1.0-9/10923530_892382520825654_6945430323008650434_n.jpg ?oh=4b3ff31503d709647579cdacbc6afcbd&oe=55648B21

then **** it home to dig around and wash it, needs four splash gaurd repairs , , os sill inner and outer, and a chassis repair, not for the faint hearted, plus a top end engine rebuild, crazy i hear you say, yes!! lol

here she is after a wash, its of for the welding tommrow, then go from there later on..

Nice find. The engine in the van is the early type which would go with your car. The turbo shield is pretty rare as most have rotted away. It probably hasn't done much mileage.
Inner sills are a bitch. They go behind the door as the outer sill and arch are layered on the inner sill at that point easiest way would be to rip the complete outer sill off and see.

My welder mate sda officer dribble sam is welding it up, ive got so many spares its hard to fit them in the shed, engine has a cam rattle so will be coming apart, and the one in the van has a burnt valve, but i have spare heads etc, a friend mike lowman is buolding me one from the bits to put in, evetything else will be forsale..

Lush! I always fancied one of these. Rarity meant I never found one. Ive never seen a Blue one only Red or White. White would be my choice. A friend-of-friend had one yonks ago. They took a few photos in the yard at work, white GTti alongside white factory fresh Corsa Gsi, great image.

Not sure how true this is, but I was told there was a Daihatsu motorsport, factory chip that was good for 160+ bhp.

Good luck with it anyways.

Great little cars, I had one back in the early 90's.

There was a very quick hillclimbing one around a few years back, and the works rally cars were awesome machines.

My mate had a black one for years. J***OCK.
He wrapped it and the resulting carnage cost him his leg and very nearly his life.

With the boost wound up a bit, it was a match for any STi, up to around 90mph.

Have fun - but be careful!

I bought my skyline in Sunderland off a fella called Wayne, I was explaining to him that I had a gtti and he told me about that poor guy that lost his leg in one. Obviously the same guy. I'll try post up pics of mine.
From 60-90mph they are quicker than a Porsche 911 of the same year.

Looks nice! Ive been told by many owners on the facebook page that the original of my car blue/silver is the rarest of colours made, and that mine is probley the only one left! It will be restored to it former colour, i need a grill and rear panel plastic thing between the lights as mines been painted!

Yes. Most of the E reg cars were a purpley grey/ silver which was different to the gunmetal silver.

Small world, mate!
That is indeed the story of Johnny R - although his version doesn't have much credibility, as he blew past a mates Clio 16v, at the top of third gear, like it was standing still...

GTS-T looks nice, in your avi.
Is that the one with a few trick bits on and Mines graphics down the sides? (Edit: and a MIG spec diff)

GTti looks great, too. Very original. :d

Meritlover. Shame I can't read it but the gtti was better I bet for the turbo but the looks were better on a Nova ... Just lol... Still love the xr2's though
