I've got a set of equal length shafts that I've had a while but just counted the splines and there are 25... I thought there was supposed I be 22? Can anyone shed some light on this? As I'm a bit confused as to what to do as I'm supposed to be making a set up.

cheers.

The 22 splines are on the GTE shafts which use Cav 1.6 inner CV's.

The equal length shafts use inner and outer CV's from things like Calibras, big block engined Cav's etc...

Ok thanks :) so I'm assuming big block cavs cvs are 25 spline then?

I am too lol, but I purchased some ages ago and assembled them from old Calibra CV's I had

Thanks for clearing that up :)

on another note... Will this be ok to use? Or will it cause too much vibration with balance not being correct?

I found big block stuff was 34... but that could be the other side...

Damage wise, woah! What did that? Id get it machined smooth.

It was ground to test the material, if I knew they were going to take that much I wouldn't have let them. I'll take a we skim on it, don't want to weaken it etc etc

I'm making a set of shafts so I wanted to know the properties of the material. In order to do that it has to be tested under the surface. The **** went daft with the grinder though by the looks of it.

Attacking it with the grinder did that...

I wish! I'll maybe just machine a bit off it. I'll make a new one if it's ****ed though.
