can a 1.2/3 carb head be fitted to a 1.2 nz?

If the wiring, fuel lines, tank etc are changed accordingly, will a 1.2/3 carb head fit the 1.2i block?

it should fit ok, but the 1.2i bottom end is hardly worth using.

if you are planning to upgrade the 1.2i with the 1.2/1.3 head, the 1.2i inlet manifold won't fit properly.

if you are planning to rebuild a 1.2 carb engine using the 1.2i bottom end, then it will be pretty crap.

Thanks, I have a spare 1.2i lying from a broken car and I wasn't sure if it was the same block as the 1.2 carb. As it isn't it's not really worth keeping lying about.

it is smaller bore & longer stroke than the 1.2 carb version.

its a pity you are in aberdeen, as i have a very long term project concept involving a 1.2i block, a 12st crank reground with a slightly shorter stroke to make a 1.0 ohc engine. then i would have turboed the hell out of it.

Now that sounds like fun! Everything is more difficult living in Aberdeen sometimes, so far away but...when the weather is good, the countryside makes up for it.
