My indicators have decided to stop working. Have done the obvious stuff (changed the fuse) and put in a new relay but still nothing. Have ordered a new column stalk and another spare relay just in case. I've contacted my garage as I'm **** with electrics and don't want to start taking the loom apart as I still need to get to work every day and have no other real means of getting in due to my unsociable hours.
Is it something stupidly and painfully simple?

Have both L & RH gone off?
Have you used the hazard switch?
If so I would check it/connections
Try switching the hazards on for a while then turn them off
My Rover SD1 can be iffy after the hazards have been on for the MOT, cycling the switch normally sorts it

not a relay as such but i know if it's a duff switch then it'll stop the indicators from working, happened in mine before.
