This cd radio isn't working, it light sup and if you put a cd in it starts but the source switch, too choose radio/aux or switch on etc doesn't work, once in a blue moon it works fine? but then the stereo just seizes. I have looked at the buttons whoch look fine.

Is this a known problem or is it faulty? (binned lol)

i used to have one of those.
some of its buttons were bent inwards a bit, from over aggressive use by the previous owner, and the volume spinner was worn loose from alot of use.
the 4 way button on the right did suffer from not working sometimes.

you could try cleaning both sides of the contacts on the back of the facia panel, and unit front where it clicks in. sometimes they get full of lint and allsorts.
mine was well-well worn, im not sure if there was much hope for it.

i never got round to pulling the facia apart to clean the button contacts, and check for breaks in the circuit solder - might have helped.
