Hey all
Ain't been on in ages, hope you are all well.

I have a dilemma, I'm planning on bucket seats and a cage for the nova but my boy is only 4 although he is the size of a 6 year old. He is currently in a booster seat (backless) and I want him to enjoy the nova to. Does anyone use a booster seat in a bucket seat with harnesses

I Don't use a booster seat with a bucket mate but I'm pretty sure it will be unsafe as it will probably sit on top of the seat sides rather then in the seat. Best bet is to keep the standard gear while he's a bit older.

I used a booster seat with my little chap when he was younger - I have Sparco Torino's however the bolsters aren't huge and the base sat flat on the seat cushion without problems.

So the only way is with reclining buckets not fixed. I suppose I could have one of each

is something like this no good ?

i woulda thought as long as its properly securely mounted, so it cant go anywhere, it should be ok with seatbelts running over the top ?

That seat doesn't look properly located in the bucket.

the core problem with buckets is they tend to be flat and rarely tilted back so in an accident a child could submarine out of the bottom of the harness.

Of course its your own risk assessment and you could always get a cheapy £10 booster and trim it to fit the bucket.

He only uses one of these. I was just wondering what others had done. I may take some measurements of boosters and bucketshttp://tapatalk.imageshack.com/v2/14/12/30/804872cc404748951c7390a51161914f.jpg

I was planning on running harnesses but I could run a seat belt on pass side for him

Stuart

With no crotch strap, he could still submarine out.......

maybe get yourself some dense seating foam, and some cloth, and custom make a seat and back, to fit the bucket, so the him and the harness are a good/safe fit

That's a good idea. Just can't believe that there is nothing on the market

Aside from legally having to have a booster, which doesn't include home made ones lol

It beggars belief sh1t like this is allowed on the forum but two members arguing is not.

We'll this is a constructive demonstration of what not to do.... Whereas an argument is just a waste of time lol

I've found a slim booster seat now that conforms to European regs. Sorry for causing a stir. It was just an honest question and I can't be the first that has been confronted with this

Andy
30-12-14, 09:51 PM
The booster aint the problem.it could be perched on a wasps nest and still conform to eu regs

Well I will buy one and see how it sits

I dont see the problem....

if you can find a booster seat that fits nicely, and the kid can be strapped in securely, why not take him out to enjoy the nova??

That's my plan staggy. I may opt for a fixed drivers bucket and a similar recliner bucket with oe seat belt for passengers of all ages and sizes

Is this the reason why so many jap imports had odd seats in cars lol
