urgent help please - vectra c 1.8 gearbox

hi guys, do any of you know which gearbox the vectra C 1.8 SRI petrol takes ?

is an F17 C 374 like the astras ?

basically a friend of mines had a gearbox changed, and the ratio's are too close, cars reving 4 k at motorway speeds.
i think they might have fitted an F17 W 419

Should be stamped on the gearbox what it is. Have you still got the old one?

i told him where to find the gearbox stamp, to check see what theyve just fitted.

hopefully the garage hasnt already thrown the original away.

i did a few speed calculations, based on how he's described the cars rpm's, and its sounds like it used to have a c374, and theyve fitted a w419
