Hi,
I'm on the hunt for a cheap oil pressure sender and came accross this

Would this work? Looks the same as the orginal but a lot cheaper.
Does Haynes say what resistance the original sensor is? That might indicate if it's suitable or not.
You may well also need a threaded adaptor to convert the hole to 1/8NPT and also an additional sensor to operate the light as well as the gauge, so it may not be that much cheaper to get the 'cheapo' sensor (especially if it's not reliable or doesn't last)
Is it worth buying cheap when its looking after/saving your engine?

It's just a stop gap for my 1.2 engine as am tired of looking at the gsi clocks and the gauge not working.
I did think there might be different pressure switches. It's a shame there's no 8v cav's etc down the scrap yards to rob one out of any more.
I bought a new GM XE one for 40 quid from AutoVaux a while ago. Just causing yourself unnecessary grief/faff trying to get a cheap universal one IMO.
Any vauxhall should have one, doesnt have to be a 8v cav.
