Does anybody have a list of gear ratios for F10, F10CR and F13 gearboxes ? or know where I can get them ? Please don't say Haynes, as I've already got one in my garage ( I'm away from home at the moment )
Cheers in advance

F10 and F13 are the same

1st 3.55
2nd 1.96
3rd 1.30
4th 0.89
5th 0.71

F10CR and F13CR are the same

1st 3.55
2nd 2.24
3rd 1.48
4th 1.12
5th 0.89

the Final drive varies between 3.74 and 4.18 depending on the car it came from (with GTE's notably having the 3.74, and the early SR's having 4.18, everything else runs 3.94 for the most part)

Good man.
I'm just trying to figure out what combination of Gearbox/ratios and CWPs would give me the best acceleration from start line to screaming in second gear.
Is it right to assume an F10/F10CR is interchangeable with an F13/F13CR fitted to a 1.3SR and are there any obvious external differences to these gearboxes, other than the identification letters ?

Cheers again

Best combination is the CR cluster with the WR CWP (4.18). All interchangeable internally. Only difference is bell housing size.

if u define best as the box with best accelleration then fine

i spent weeks looking for a F10/5W with a 4.18 FD because i wanted it to be a decent motorway cruiser - cos thats where i do a lot of my driving anyway

4000rpm at 95 is a damn sight better TO ME than 4000rpm at 70 :o

and after all that searching i find the box is gubbed  and now have a F13/W with 3.94 FD (which was fitted to a GTE lump i buaght but has probably come from an SRi) to fit as soon as i get a chance

Cheers Lads.
I'm gradually getting my head round the situation. Although the theory is coming together, I suppose the only way to see if it works is bolt the stuff together and see if it flies off the line ( I have a grasstrack 1.3SR by the way). The majority of the other lads racing, don't get out of second gear, so that's why I've started thinking about ratios, although there are other factors that come into play, tyres, suspension etc... Just got to find the time now!!!

my 1.4sr box (orignal) does 80 @ 4000rpm in 3rd

on the f20 in the 2.0 it's doing 80 @ 3500rpm

and that is the f13cr gearbox?
i am getting about 60 in 3rd, i dont wanna push it much harder sounds like its revving quite hard

no unfortunately not - the digidash rev counter doesn't work properly on the diesels

if low gearing is what you want, then look for mk1 1200 astra estates, they've got low low diff ratios, but for grass tracking, I would think that wheelspin will be a huge problem. So I assume you weld the diff up. I would also think that either starting in second, or fitting a tall ratio diff 3.74:1 would be the thing with high aspect ratio tyres.
