View Full Version : Special mention of the Nova in 2014 BBC article about 'kroozers'
http://www.bbc.com/news/magazine-30300916
Pretty cringeworthy article on the whole but this made me laugh.
"In the old days they would spend £1,000 or £2,000 on a Nova or a Corsa and then £10k on doing it up," says Sootheran.

noisy *******s need stringing up!
I wonder what makes more noise two blokes fight out side a pub or a car turned off in a car park while its owner chats with like minded friends.
why who does that like?
banging off the limiter straight through system to cherry bomb backbox ftw!!!!!!!!! at 3am

They drove it out with a huge clap down in my town back in 2002/4 and it wasn't until maybe last few years since people started creating Facebook groups /pages that it's come back, that and the fact we dont have an active police station or cars patrolling the area since the cut backs.
I went to a local meet by allmods, it was quite good, nice to remember what it was once like (obviously not the same)
But you still have the hand full of ****ers who start doing burnouts, then every other dick thinks, oh I'll do it as I leave.. Then wonder why the police get called..
For me personally the cruising scene of the mid to late 90's was something special, and will never be recreated , if your my age you were involved in it, and yeah back then I guess I was a boy racer, but not now lol

can't get away with that in a 1.2 :(
Bizzies had mondeos, I would lose them in the 1.3SR
They upgraded to omega MV6's, I fitted a XE and they were a distant memory lol

Ahhh take me back to '04. Such great memories from when i passed my test. I was perhaps one of the biggest idiots in my town lol
This is my local area, it was good back in the day but like all things you grow out of it. It has been dodgy with Lewis Hamilton wannabees everywhere in clios and corsa Ds. Not my scene though "take it to the track or take it home"

Festival park used to be packed every Sunday. Used to be ace it went on for years and years. Every Sunday night till the early hours then racing back home down the D road. Then an injunction was put in place and it stopped for about 5-7 years I think. But just recently the injunction had expired on to it. Then a Facebook group popped up "festival park reunited" everyone of my car friends had liked the group and the rest of stoke on Trent had joined. There was a meet organised for the following Sunday night. It had been on local radio and the local paper all week. The police turned up in force but happily let everybody crack on. It made me feel 19 again it was absolutely packed! It was great for 1 night. but the following weekend they were meeting again and the weekend after n sort of ruined it. Business owners, police residents got pissed off with it and now there applying for the injunction again. Shame really as I guess if they had a meet every 3-4 months they'd get away with it.
The old croozzinng scene was awesom back in the day. its one of the reasons I own a nova today. Nostalgic.
