speedlines, arch mods needed?

Hi,
this is probably a stupid question but I got offered some speedlines today, 16" et49.
In general do these need the arches to be modified to avoid rubbing or do they clear the arches?
I have nice mint orginal arches so don't want to be hacking them about.

When I got my nova it outrageously came with 17s and they only mildly scrapped on hard lock. Think they were et47 from memory so I'd of thought you would be ok.

I had to trim a couple of mil off my arches as they did catch ever so slightly. Im sure a lot of people get away without doing any mods though...

Mine didnt rub with 195/40 Toyo T1R tyres and I think the 45's mightn't rub either.

I think it's hit and miss, down to the Nova's build tolerances. Never fitted 16's myself, but I recall one side being a tighter fit than the other when untouched.

Also worth noting that your 16's will most likely be 6.5 / 7j

It does seem tighter one side, when I dropped it 100 mm my drivers side rear was touching the inner arch and that was with the fan blades on.
I think I will have to ask the bloke if he minds me trial fitting them.

Mine was dropped around 90mm and rubbed on the inner arches with 45's on. I fitted some 40's and they never touched again.

Mines only a 60mm drop now so I'm hoping it will be ok

Your bound to need the arches rolled on the rears, usually for some bizzare reason one side always rubs on a Nova... My old cav slabs use to rub on the drivers side when I dropped it 60mm when giving it pasty on corners.

Rear beams on Novas probably we're never designed to have 15's on tbh, so 16's were far too psychedelic for the spanish.
