Thought i start a thread off of what u regret most doin to your nova?. For me its taking my standard sr which ive had for 10 years now and putting a kit on it when i was 16. I thought at the time it looked good. I even knackered my mint original boot with a smooth boot panel. Also scrapped the 1.3 engine which annoys me still to this day lol. And after all the money ive put into it would probably be worth more if i left it as it was.:(

Biggest regret is using my red gsi as a project, I wish i restored it and bought a clean shell to cut up and use as my track toy. Also the money I have spent on it is ridiculous. But on the bright side I now have the white gsi to keep standard.

Managed to sort mine back out with original bumpers and boot. Then i fitted a 2 ltr 8v which was pretty rapid. That got removed with me always wanting a c20let which i got now in it. Love it but sick of little problems now and again. One day it will run spot on the next issues.

Z3 vents in the front wings..... What was I thinking! That coupled with Scooby scoop and vents on the bonnet as well.
That was on my 2nd SR, on the 1st SR I think it has to be stupid chavy stickers and lack of cash to respray it, at least 4 colours on it!
The GSi, rear arch extensions just to give the extra inch of lowness!
Buying any of them except my grassers.

My biggest regret is modifying my arches to *Just take ET49 15's. If I had flared them a little more before paint I could have used nearly every wheel I have on it.

This is the realisation i had a couple of years ago.
All the money plowed into making a good quick one could be spent on a better car out the box.
That, and the fact fuel is too dear to drive round aimlessly.Along with having an ever growing family, ballsing around with projects just has no appeal anymore.
The racing does however. No tax mot or insurance needed.
5er a race meeting, the kids come and watch and help and its a good buzz rather than standing next to it in a field once a year lol

My biggest regret is probably not going floor mounted pedal box over a bulkhead one in terms of any work that needs doing to it; that said pedals that pivot from above rather than below feel alright.

Tbf if we all could of seen the future of these type of cars we would have all been a bit more careful etc, I think how good ny silk violet gsi was when I scrapped it 7 years ago, people pay 2k for worse, in fact some sad ****s pay over a grand for a bit of paper and some metal stamped tags to create ringger versions of such cars lol

Scrapping my first car after some minor welding was needed  bye bye white 1.3sr
My only regret is prepping the bumpers wrong so they keep flaking lol
Not doing this right at the start. So i have to redo them now.
But that's not knowing what i do know and just doing/going on with that i was told.
I don't tho regret doing what i have, owning them, spending what i have on them.

Do you know something, I've no regrets with any of the Nova's I've owned. I've spent probably near 10k doing my old ones up and non were really what I'd call show worthy but I've learnt a lot regarding what's not worth doing on Novas also.
The amount of cruising miles I did in my early teens I'll never regret, filling the tank up and just basically burning fuel off for the sake of it going to meets, but that was the fun of it 20 years ago in a Nova and knowledge was shared at meets so you actually could talk to people in real life about the fun they had in Novas... Ah the memories.
