Hi, I've looked threw this site a lot but never posted. I own a corsa b 1.2 8v LS which I then fitted a C14NZ. I know this is a site for Novas but could anyone give me some advice as I know these engines are similar.

I'm looking at fitting Nova SR Cams into my C14NZ. I know these ain't the best engines but reliable. Would fitting these cams help performance at all or has anyone got any better ideas ?

Please don't say just fit a bigger engine i.e C20LET as I want to do this to be slightly different.

Thanks

i dont wanna go against your engine upgrade comment, but youll have to launch a fair amount of money at it to get any worthwhile gains.

it quickly gets to a point where it becomes more sensible to upgrade the engine.

if i were you id save your money, and leave it standard. just give it a good service to keep it running well.

but if your set on more speed, look into an x16xe engine from an astra or tigra, itll cost alot less for the equivalent power, and will fit straight in, to your current gearbox, and engine mounts

I was told fitting a 1.2 8v head to my C14NZ would give it more torque. Would this work as I have a 1.2 head in the garage and also have a 1.6 astra inlet. What gains would I get from fitting these if any ? may as well fit it if I have the parts anyway till I can save for a 1600 conversion

im half way through a 14nz bottom end and 12st head swap/build I will be running a 1.3sr carb and inlet and hoping for around 80 hp (nothing ground breaking power wise lol)

with you running a corsa b I wouldn't bother. you couldn't run carbs with the emission laws in place (as far as I know) so just save up for the 1.6 conversion or buy a corsa sport! they are little rockets from standard :)

Thanks just thought with having the parts already may as well fit it as i'm stripping engine for gaskets and seals anyway for piece of mind as its done 90k. what would the benefit be of running the 1.2 head and 1.6 inlet ? even if its only a small benefit as I wont be doing the conversion till next summer. Thanks
