I have Tryed this on a green shelf re dye it green it did not seen to take at all

I tried normal black fabric dye on mine but it didn't take either due to the shelves being made from synthetic carpet. I've seen some nylon carpet dye but it's quite dear to buy, will post my results when I try it in the new year though lol

I've noticed 2 uncut shelves on eBay both grey, could I spray paint one?

If not too expensive I still think it's worth a go, only a rattle can of fabric dye with plenty of coats in between drying time, it's not like they're hard wearing items.

Just let it dry in the house between coats, even if it means using several cans of spray it's better than searching for a black one IMO... You can still search in the mean time for a black one if you want the black faded gsi ones due to being 20 years old lol

Aye, I can't remember the last time I saw a gsi one for sale. Fingers crossed paint does the trick. The seller says local pickup only but I've asked if they'll post. Fingers crossed

GSi shelves are not strictly Black, I can think of 3 including my own that were Grey. Could depend on the car colour perhaps.

The shelf from my GSi is available if you want one. Pretty much the last of my parts.
