Engine light on ?

So was driving the car just now and the engine light comes on but engine is runing fine what things could it be ? My mate has a computer thing but have to wait to tomorrow even lol

but with no limp mode my money is on a post cat lambda sensor if the car is of the right age

Post cat lambda sensor then. The readings do nothing for the mixture (hence it runs fine) but its to check the cat is there/working and will trip the light if its faulty

Sounds like I have to change the lambda sensor then ant spending money on exhaust yet lol

the pedal test to flash the fault codes.
IGN off
both brake and throttle pedal down.
turn the ign on-lights will now show (keeping pedals down)
Then the EML will go through a sequence of flashes.Count them.
Google it and its been covered infinite times,you will also find the codes online too.
