if this data sheet on the corsa A i have is correct, it used an F10, 5 speed, wide ratio, with a 3.94 or 4.18 diff

F10WR. Only Nova's to get a CR box were the 1.4 SRi and GTE/GSi

1.3 SR Diffs are 4.18

I thought SRs had a better diff than the regular nova 5spds? mine is a 1.2l 5spd and the gearbox is far from what it once was and I want the best accelerating 5spd box for it

out of interest, someone posted something a while back stating which numbers were the way of identifying what ratio they are?

It is not the diff you need to change, it is the crown wheel which is attached to the diff and the pinion gear which is on the pinion shaft. To replace that you have to pull the cluster out.

i wouldnt go too mad millworm, or you might find yourself sat on the motorway @ 4000 rpm doing 60, and getting a massive headache

i think a post 97 f13c with a 3.74 would be a nice compromise. same as the gte/gsi ratio, but with a quicker 1st gear take-off

post 97 f13c with 3.74

Speed @ Limit 1st 28.29 Mph
Speed @ Limit 2nd 49.31 Mph
Speed @ Limit 3rd 74.84 Mph
Speed @ Limit 4th 94.22 Mph
Speed @ Limit 5th 118.57 Mph

speeds @ 5,800 rpm, with 185/60/14's

yeah i don't want to go crazy with it but seeing as it needed doing anyway i though i'd see what was about. And at the end of the day it's a 1.2 lol

i've been sent a 1400 sr box with the 3.94 diif in it and i think that'll be enough for me and it's fairly local so it's a bonus. Also can't be putting a better box in that than whats in my 1600 lol
