Hi guys I got this unfinished project in part exchange for a driveway job I done recently, it's been sat the way I got it for 8 years, it's only covered 33,000 miles, and is really good and solid, the guy I got it from has already, stripped it, added chassis strenghening kit, and stitch welded the shell, came with loads of parts inc Let engine and f28, already bolted in place using solid mounts, I'm going to be building this through the winter hopefully get it done by spring/summer,

some me pics of when I collected it

The secret is, you need to be good at it, lol

it needed a few bits to complete, windscreen, rear axle, fuel pump, injection tank,

i i got these parts from a friend in exchange for a brand new genuine gsi front bumper,

i was was lucky here again as I got the bumper with the project. Came with two gsi front bumpers

I still need a few parts for it,..

alternator or with single v pulley. Also adjuster bracket, with bolt, but and factory earth strap,

decent front shocks swith heavy duty springs,

unripped headliner,

Its really solid, there is s little bit of rust on bottom of passenger side rear arch, so I have bought a full arch to cut a little section of of, the inner lip of arches are starting to show bubbling, I will address this , when I'm folding the arch lips in,

Cool, you dont ever really know until you start digging, but i mostly looked at the front panel, behind the healights, flitch's and up in behind the turret on the bulkhead seam. It looks pretty decent just from the pics.

Shame about the Dent right on the N/S/R swage line, but a good body shop would sort that

Nice Transit too.

H30vw
21-11-14, 11:55 AM
The dent came from when the previous owner went to move it off his spit and it fell,

I do all my own bodywork and paint, so it's all good on that front, it's absoloutley solid everywhere apart from part I said,

the transit is my friends he's not long built it

free collection, spot on

Got more done to the nova recently, started to do body work, repaired the debt on the swage line, high build primed the engine bay and two rear arches,

Got it mounted up on spit, and stripped the rest of car out, axle off, shifter out

folded arch lips in with panel hammer and dolly, them gave the edge lip a little bit of stopper to make it perfect

I can't believe how good a shell it is, it makes doing the bodywork so much easier and nicer, no rot to eat into your man hours,

hopefully get get the full shell, wet flatted and 2-3 coats of primer to deal the old colour, ready for some gloss black

The rollover spit makes it so easy to work on, think it cost about £185

looks a good little project, how much room does the Spit take up? doubt it would work in my small garage!

£185 well spent on the spit, nice work, should last for a good few more years with proper prep like that :)

The he width of the spit is narrower than the nova itself, so should fit in your garage ok, the car can do full rotation,

I think the more time you spend on prep, the better the finish will be
