Dumb question I know but my Haynes manual is over 450Km from me !.
Are the bottom half ie from below the head down on the NV and NZ 1.4 engines the same or are the some differences ?.
I'm asking as My 1.4 NV engine has some damage and I was thinking of taking all the tuned parts head, cam, so upper parts and putting them on a spare NZ block I have.

i was studying these 1.4's, a little while back, and yeah, i believe there the same.

they have the same 73.4mm stroke, with 77.6 pistons, and the same size pocket in piston top.

the 14SE is very similar too, but slightly different, with a 0.8mm smaller pocket in the piston, for a slightly higher compression ratio.

Are the cam belts the same ie round or square teeth ?.

The N is for low compression engine so should be the same. The V or Z is the induction type I think.
Pistons, rod and crank are all the same

yeah, i believe they all use the same round tooth design belt.

non-tensioner models - 104 tooth x 17mm belt
tensioner models - 111 tooth x 17mm belt

personally, i wouldnt bother with a tensioner myself, and use the 104 toothed belt, tensioned correctly off the waterpump :thumb:
