My Nova project, Noris!

I thought i better introduce 'Noris'
I've had this little nova since i was 16/17 as my first car, learnt to drive in it, gave it a name, thought it was the best thing since sliced bread! It had a terrible £20 ebay backbox that meant long motorway journeys were a no go for your ears and some wheels that caused some crazy wobbling between 50-60mph, oh and some lovely little halfords letters that spelt out his name above the nova badge, 16/17 year old idea of good is never usually good!
Anyway long story short we (We being me, my dad and boyfriend) took it off the road in 2012 and started it as a little project, a very slow project!

Needed a new front panel, new front wings, and some attention to the rear arches

Sent him away to a good friend of ours to prep & paint, SH Restorations in Silsden, did a brilliant job
Had him painted audi ibis white to be abit different, i slightly wish we had kept him standard but the whole point in this car has been what i like, not what everyone else wants you to have

Then came the decision of what to put back in it, i really wanted to put a 1.6 8v with twin 40s in it, but it never really happened yet!
I bought an engine, but the ebay seller failed to let us know its converted to run gas aswell, and it wouldve been far too much effort/time to get it sorted to go in (PS if anybodys interested in buying it z16se as far as im aware it runs for sale!)
And then spent a while searching for an engine from a GSI i gave up and decided to go back to 1.2 so i could atleast have it back on the road and have an engine swap as a later project for it!

got the engine in, and sort of running, it wasn't happy though!
Brought it to the garage at home and did some tinkering and now its fully running!

Lost my bonnet stay somwhere along the line so bought some lifters instead

Then wasted some money that could have gone into the engine search on the most beautiful wheels i have ever set eyes on, like i said, its about what i like not what people want

And thats as far as we are in pictures so far!
The bumpers and grill are on, its got a new screen (the origional one got cracked along its journey :( ) it just needs the rear screen fitting, little bits like wipers connecting up, indicators in the wings, rear lights fitting in and we are ready for test! Oh and i have a gsi spoiler being painted the same colour to go on it too!

P6 is my dads, bumpers are same as the ones before i started anything with it, might eventually colour code them but not sure if that will be too much white?

Hahaha everything has a mans name, i've had colin the corsa, clifford the clio and now Miguel the golf!

A new picture from yesterday, got new springs on the back so it actually sits level.

Just need to find a decent badge for the bonnet & fit the door locks then thats the body sorted, just got to get the engine running right and then its on the road!
