Take it to a rolling road and find out

Was thinking about that just seeing if anyone else has tried the 1.4 bottom with 1.6 head and there outcome

Would have thought it would be low compression so you'll not see much gains from std

shouldnt be that drastically low.

if it feels fine and isnt knocking, then I'd be half inclined to leave it alone lol

Not low but lower. It's not going to have any gains that would warrant dyno time.

a friend of mines done this, and he said it was a good upgrade.

the compression gets dropped a tad, due to the head chamber size, but the larger valves, and better flowing ports do more for it, than it takes away.

he was running twin 40's with that combo.

what are you using for the fueling side ? as i think the square port carb manifold is way out of line against the se head.

regarding the timing, if it doesnt pink on acceleration ( the sound of keys jangling around in your pocket lol ), its probably not far off where it should be.

Yeah, that and if the exhaust manifold isn't glowing orange on idle :P

1.4's don't have a lot past the tonne, thats where the 1600's look like they have another gear.
So it sounds alright to me.

I have no pinking at all guys and belive it or not I'm running a carb off my old 1.2 engine lol as I did run twin 40s but sold them and all I had was the 1.2 carb also using standard 1.6 manual fuel pump returns 60-80 miles per £10 depending how I drive it hard to believe but for a mix n match engine it's wicked on fuel and doesn't hang about either

One thing I will say in 6 months I've gone through 3 fuel pumps 3 rotor arms and two lots of leads also only happen once but when for second gear hard and the dizzy cap popped off
