cars that have been exported from and imported back to england, has anyone got any experience of this?
Basically my black hutchinson cabriolet has spent some time abroad. This I knew about and was under the impression it was initially registered in England.
Now I received the logbook today with the correct vin and the current (correctly dated reg) verified by the age coding in the vin number. The problem is its
A. Registered as an opel, no model type and body type as cabriolet (all hutchinson cabs should be registered as a 2 door saloon due to the conversion taking place after registration).
B. It's had the 1300 sr motor fitted and registered as such but there is no trace of the reg on databases such as insurance. So when inputting the details manually the closest match would be a 1986 1.2 litte vauxhall nova 2 door saloon.
There is no option for 1986 opel corsa a (earliest is 1994 ie a corsa b) despite selecting that it's been imported.
Am I right in thinking it's been registered onto age related plates with the misleading inaccurate information at import rather than being registered back onto the original registration with its previous details.
If that's the case do I have to re register it with the correct details, including engine change, and how do I go about doing that?
