Please when you've advertised something and it has become "SOLD" can we all go back and edit the original post you advertised in, far too many threads which are long winded and make people not realise something may have sold.

Basically you've a part for £50... Change your advert to SOLD for that item, it will make sense :)

Also once your item/items are fully sold the thread will be locked.

Could you not just close/lock threads once eveything is sold instead of delete it?

The beauty of a forum apposed to Facebook groups is that it creates a database of information for us all to refer to. By deleting each thread the data is lost and we can no longer view it. As paul080803 (http://www.pngclub.com/forum/member.php?183818-paul080803) says locking them is a better idea.

Kev the files have been like that all the time, non get left or locked.

I might suggest that we have a folder which is an archive that is locked but still readable for the rest of the forum.

The above suggestion sounds good Southie.

I would say close a thread rather than delete or move it (unless requested otherwise by the OP). From an administrative perspective its a lower overhead, and when searching/browsing its a lot easier to look in one forum.

who thought this up?

deleting and even closing a sale thread is a guff idea imho. If one from 10 years ago gets bumped then sure.

Just put sold in place of the price... Simple.

@Stuart, thought it would help the sale side of things as it takes ages shifting through items to then get to an end to realise nothing's left to buy.

the tags dont work outside of the seeeekreeeet nazi world ;)

If you want to close threads then feel free lol

I think close/deleting sold up no longer needed threads is good idea to clean it up imo.

I've got a few that can be deleted, I'm sure I've posted it on the threads.

closing/deleted threads on a forum that has put a ban on 'whats it worth' threads seems counterproductive to me.

Closing seems to be the best way imo, people can see what similar things have sold for removing the need for the afformentioned not welcome what's it worth threads whilst also removing the tedium of looking through a for sale thread to find nothings left and bumping up 5 year old threads by people not paying attention to dates.

i was just gonna say the same.
Its good to use for reference when thinking what somethings value is.

The threads will still be there so will still be able to use as reference, no longer going to be deleted.

They never were deleted, and if they were, they shouldn't have been.

What was said about sifting through loads of guff posts to find its sold...
Theres loads of guff posts in the trader area.
People used to get hammered not so long back.

Both in wanted and for sale.

I dont read the for sale posts at all lol

Jack

I only read them when I want to buy something lol

Mind you, the testing and misc for sale forums get cleared every 28 days.... :colonchin:
