I'm looking at replacing my track rod ends as I've got brand new everything else to go under the front arches ready for when the car returns.

so my question is what are the pros and cons of running rose jointed ones to standard ones and vise versa?
do they last any longer? Steering any better or worse? Will they be better standard for road use?

cheers

On lowered novas they will be more direct as you can mount them from the underside of the knuckle.

This may or may not be a ridiculous thing to say buuuttttt....couldn't you just spin around a standard one?

Not without machining the knuckle.

So am I right in assuming rose jointed ones are straight and standard items have a taper fit?

Yarp. The rose jointed just run a hefty bolt straight through.

They might be the way to go then as I think my hub needs drilling out straight anyway as it's had some hammer action and like you say I can get it low and run it straighter

See the last page on my build thread, for steering arm swapping and that.

just been reading that mate. What made you choose a tapered sleeve over a rose joint one?

You still have to drill out the hub to use a rose joint, rose joints arnt that cheap. My cheap ball joints have lasted 5 years.

The height of the track rod end can affect bump steer.
