Hi all.
Iv had the idea in my head for a while now I was just wondering if anyone has done it, if theres any pics or if anyone could photoshop some 3 door hatch front and rear quarter panel/arches onto a saloon.
Cheers

Good thing I've got two full rear 1/4s in the garage then lol
Didn't one of the guys at the spares day have quarters? Sure he did.

Just bought 2 new ones off eBay for 25 posted each
But I'm not a fan of hatch arches on saloons.
You can still get repro repair rear arches. Only arch repair panels though, not the full quarters. I've got both sides, OEM, in my garage - one full quarter, one 3/4 - was going to use them but it seems a bit of a waste on my car lol

Looks odd to me.
Thats because they've used a front arch to do the rear.
Hatch arches look wrong on a saloon IMO, even if using the correct corners.
it really wouldn't be that difficult to get some flat sheet & make some up that actually fit the rear end properly. the original hatch ones will always be a compromise.

Never like this done to saloons just like I don't like round arches on 3 door hatches.

why you'd go to an arch that restricts your wheel choice more than the standard one is beyond me
if you widen them & make the arch the right size, it won't be a restriction.

I have always wanted to graft 2dr round arches onto a 3dr. I once got as far as cutting up a donor saloon for most of it 1/4's, but never got around to fitting them and they went on the scrap.
A few reasons, extra track, wheel tyre choice, easier wheel changes and easier to get the tow straps on.
My Mk2 Astra is done like it and it makes life a lot easier.

Please dont do it, it looks dreadful. (In my opinion, obviously)
Hatch arches are for hatches, saloon arches are for saloons lol

If looks were everything I would agree.

Why else would you fit hatch arches on a saloon if not for looks?

Practicality of actually finding them can pick a set of hatch rears up on Monday for £22 a pair delivered try loon ones are a lot harder to find

Thinking outside the box I know lol you'd have to split the arch to the door but it might look the part... I might do a photoshop tomorrow lol

You wouldn't, but vice versa offers way more function over form.

Has anyone ever fitted 3 door hatch arches to a 5 door hatch?
Yes, there was one on ebay a while back.

What you wanna make a 5Door look worse?!
the problem with a nova saloon with hatch arches is that you'd need to make it look like this to be cool....

and a loon is just out of proportion

the boot is way bigger for a start, and the wheel arches aren't quite in the right place..
making new rear arch flares from scratch would go a long way to making it look better.... oh, and bmw actually made up a unique rear window panel extension & boot lid to get the aero to work better & this makes the e30 look more of a coupe...
any chance someone can get photoshopping on it though
