hi all its been bugging me for a while but sometimes my auto choke works and other times it doesnt how could i get it working propperly its a pierburg 2e carb thanks

Have you got any air in the coolant system?no its allways done it since i had the car sometimes the auto choke works then others it doesnt

try cleaning the coil spring under the cap, and make sure the control lever underneath moves back and forth freely and easily.

check the main mechanism on the carb too, as they can get a little sticky, and not flick back and forth smoothly.

if no joy, you might need to adjust it, either spring side, or mechanism side, or both.
