Have been offered a new set of Corsa GSI Brakes.
My GTE brakes are ****e, so I want a better set, without going down the Astra ATE route.

What are the differences. I have been told that the Corsa tyre are sliding calipers, but I thought the GTE ones were too?

Diameters?

Cheers

I want to keep it standard, thus keeping the 14" 3 spokes.

The corsa ones are 24mm and the satra 26mm (i believe).

The corsa ones should fit inside your standard 3 spokes.

for starter the corsas will be the ate style which are MUCH better than the old shitty delco ones anyway

the corsas are only 236mm and either 20 or 24mm wide

the astra 16v are 256x24mm

astra will prolly catch on standard nova alloys unless u fit worn disks and pads

corsa wont..

The Corsa GSI discs have the same dimension of those found in the Astra GTE, but the discs of the Corsa 1.4 have the same diameter of those found on Nova GTE. (Corsa GSI disc dimension: 256x24 , Corsa 1.4 disc dimension: 236x20). 8)

Spoke to peteG earlier, his girlfriend runs corsa GSi ATE brakes with 3 spokes so yes they will definately fit.

corsa 16v = 256mm*20mm

'most' astra gsi's are 256mm*24mm

belive the astra are a little more powerful (not due to thicker disc).

I would have said the Astra would be better, but unfortunately they DEF wont fit!

I dont trust Ben, so I will wait for a 3rd opinion. :D

Will the Corsa ATE jobbies fit behind my 3 spokes? Does the 4mm diff allow the clearence?

the astra ones WILL fit as long as the disks and pads are used

the astra ones are more powerful due to the larger disk diameter (and possibly a larger piston)

the corsa gsi wheels are the same size and width as nova ones so they will DEFO fit

another option would be the 236x20mm disks and ate calipers from a late model nova ie 1992>

If you're about to fit 14s, Ate calipers with 256x24mm do fit. I have it on my Nova. Wheels are original Vauxhall alloys, found on many Cavs and Calibra 8vs.

they dont fit with these without serious mods.
