camshaft ball bearing

any idea what the ball bearing is for ? and can they be pulled out, so a pin drive dizzy can be used ?

once done, any issues doing this, and reverting back to slot drive ?

i think it is to blank off an oilway drilling. people usually just knock them in a touch more if it is for a peg drive dizzy.
