How much does the C20XE move around in the car and does this look like enough clearance for the alternator? http://i1246.photobucket.com/albums/gg609/HOT-ROD77/HOTROD/20140924_190621.jpg (http://s1246.photobucket.com/user/HOT-ROD77/media/HOTROD/20140924_190621.jpg.html)
The engines gotta come back out yet so its not the end of the world if I've got to make more adjustments.

Doesnt look quite enough to me. I cut a cross in mine, hammered it in and welded up the gaps then sanded smooth. Did the job.

Personally, i'm not a fan of the huge square edge cut outs people do.

that will clatter it on fast left corners.proper fire hazard if not done right.

Not too keen either tbh that's why I shaved the leg. As soon as I got the engine back in I could see it was tight. It needs to be right this time before it goes back to paint so I figured it would be best to get some experienced advice on it! Lol

I had more room than that when i used urm... A hammer but when turning left sparks used to come out of the bonnet with standard mounts. Solid mounts are a must as far as I'm concerned makes them much better.

I once came across a c20xe nova where they had just cut the inner wing/ leg out and left it! I also agree that the cut and box idea doesn't look great. The hammer method and solid mounts works well :)

The cut outs can look really neat if done properly, 95% of them are quick jobs that look gash - odd shaped, rough as **** and covered in pigeon **** and hammerite lol

Oh yes weld snot and hammerite is the ultimate fix haha! I might try putting the alternator on the front on my xe cabriolet just the extended wiring looks like the hardest bit.
