Hello!

Currently offshore so cant physically do anything to my Nova, except plan out things. I have took my Nova Haynes manual so i can plan out my wiring. I will need Standalone management to run throttle bodies on my 1800 small block. It will have to be 45mm Jenveys, and i havent decided what ecu to get for management.

Do people prefer certain makes over others?

I am going to try and keep everything as basic as possible as far as wiring is concerned. When i bought the vehicle, it had no engine or gearbox or engine wiring.

I have the interior loom however its been butchered and looks shocking! It used to be a carb model so i will have to run fuel pump wires anyway so i was thinking of making up my own dash loom as the car will still be road legal i will obviously have to have lights, wipers ect!

I was looking at stacked dash's but not familiar with the wiring side of these.

Has anyone got any good ideas or have carried out this work before?

I have the Wiring diagrams in the Haynes manual but does anyone have any better diagrams?

Any help will be appreciated 😊

thanks

James

Omex all the way. Visit http://www.harnessing-solutions.co.uk and get in touch with Selwyn, he's an OMEX specialist and can supply an ECU and loom. He's currently sorting out my rally car, really nice guy.

Cheers

the beauty of an emerald ecu is the wiring loom is the same as a rover k series. making an interior loom is a bit harder than wiring in an ecu. keep the loom as standard as possible so when it comes to fault finding you have a drawing to relate to. for the engine youl need to make up a relay/fuse box which will be about 3 or 4 relays fuses. Read the manual of whatever ecu you are going for as they will tell you everything you need to know. from that you can work out what load sensing method youll go for as MAF MAP TPS ect and whether you are using cam/crank/ sensors then whether you are using a single coil, coil per plug ect my advice would be to keep it the same as standard where you can to keep it simple.

best way is to fit all the sensors to wheret hey want to be then run the wires from each sensor to where the ecu is located and where the fusebox is. keep plenty length on them for the plug then tape them all together and pull it all off the car. then its just a matter of joining the earths together where you can and heat shinking and crimping the pins on the plugs. just label everything so you can bell it out with a meter to check it all.

by the time youve finished youll have a fair idea what your doing. :thumb:
