I believe that is a 16SV, from a Cavalier/mk2 Astra?

looks like 16sv to me too.

should fit on smallblock mounts.
rectangular inlet ports on the head, with a mechanical fuel pump, and pierburg 2e

no no no.
these are bollox big blocks that need a 2.0 fitting kit and shafts.
You couldn't dream up a bigger waste of time than to fit these engines into a nova

isnt the big block the earlier 16SH ? ... as ive fitted one of these 16SV's on smallblock mounts before.

agree'd it wasnt amazing, revs took a while to build up. it was a bit dissapointing after all the work.

Its not an E16SE. These SV's had an ECU (siemens) for ignition & as mentioned, a carb.

Unless its an E16SE with a swapped out rocker cover....

Yeah that ecu thing was for the 1.4 before hand that was in this nova . Obv for the dizzy and the coil .. It's on a 2e carb but I was just going to run it on my current dizzy and coil

Stupid question but have you looked at the code stamped on the engine?!

I thought this was just a trivia quiz for site users.
