XE/LET throttle bodies and inlet manifold differences??

Right, I've noticed that the inlet I've got with my let has a few bits that look slightly damaged etc, so I've got and old xe inlet, it looks slightly different from the outside on the casting, but is there a difference at all between them to stop me using the xe one, and I'm guessing I'll have to use the let tb on it as I can see it's different for the vacuum pipes etc.

Then my next question is, can I grind off parts of the casting from my xe type one to smooth it off a bit, or is the cast in such a way that if would make holes in the inlet walls??

Totally interchangeable matey. Thee are some casting etc differences, but the inlets are largely the same. Tbs are too iirc, I think the only difference in the above is that one is a pierburg and the other isn't?

Cheers guys, Andy, yeah I spotted there different and can see I need to use the one that's from the let, strange how the linkage mechanism is different..

So does anybody know if I can smooth off some of the lugs from the casting on the xe type one without it going though into a hole?

I know the botton lug cant be touched..made that mistake myself lol

Let and xe tb arnt the same let has map sensorpipe and no breather at the front as the breather goes from rocker cover to turbo

If I could edit the title I would, as I know the big differences on tbs and I know I have to use the actual tb body, but I was wondering why the linkage mechanism is different?
