Finally got my 1.6 Turbo fully set up and running sweet. At the moment shes running 181bhp/185lbs ft Torque.
At Santa Pod yestaday I clocked a best time of 14.30 @99mph with the clutch slipping!!!
Not bad for a 1.6 8v :D

Saw Richard Bell and his Red Widearched 2.0 16v Turbo run a 14.3 as well. It looked and sounded very nice.

Did anyone else go?

Oh yeah and on the way home I got the Digi Dash to show 146mph at 6100rpm! :D (on private property of course  )

no - no no you see you're wrong coz it's turbo'd so doesnt count in the same category as the normally aspirated engined cars

Or thats what they will say anyway :D

If anyone wants to see the latest Engine spec of my car:

http://www.novaload.net/features/viewfeature.php?ref=769

It had the rear seats out, Coilovers set rock solid at the rear and 28PSi in the front tyres. That was about it.
I was running 16" Speedlines.

I'll be running again 2nd November hopefully with a LSD and some Cool blue 102 Octane fuel. So hopefully go for 13's. But it will have probably blown up again by then so im not holding my breath. :|

Cheers for the comments. I was Very Very happy, As i've been building that engine for 2 years and this is the first time i've been able to run it up the strip.

Well done...

So were the thousands worth it?

I might have a rather nippy 1.6 8v for next season but plans are under lock and key at the moment

i only ran my 2l turbo at 15.7 secs at santa pod.
maybe i could do a better time if i raced with a
fast car like yours?

Thats an impressive time without a LSD. So Neil what next for the engine, steel rods and 200bhp? I can't decide between taking my 1.6 further or fitting a LET. By the way hows the torque steer, if the 1.6 keeps the Nova balanced and nimble then I might tune the 1.6.

I just want to enjoy it for the time being. Its been off the road so much, it just nice to turn the key and drive it. Hoping for an LSD in November. Then a long break from engine work till either it blows up again or I have enough money to buy the Steel Rods/Low comp Pistons and run 20psi. Then it should smash the 200 barrier. But it'll be March at the earlist for that to happen im afraid.

Torque Steers fine. Nothing you can't live with. But on Country roads the car flys, whereas a Nova with LET or XE will struggle on all but the smoothest of surfaces.
