Wondering if any of you know if I'd be able to fit one of these to my nova? My mates got one in his dc2 and I'd really like one in my car! If it's possible I'll be getting the dimensions off my mates one and machine one myself. What you think?

Anything is possible.
Looks like a cable setup, you could use a Mk4 Astra or Vectra cable operated turret on the box.

I understand it has taken a few attempts / tweaks to perfect the gear selection but looks like its running fine now.

Are you trying to fit a K20 to a Nova or just the gear selector?

That's tidy Kev.

just the gear selector Craig, c20let going in.

the stick wont make the "shift" any better so to speak.... the way the shift feels is down to the way into the box and not so much the lever controlling it.

Ah I see. I'll get a pic of the gearbox side of things tonight. Hopefully something similar can be done on the nova. The shift is absolutely perfect.

if you're spending the £££ then just get the HHMS rod type?

Because looks are everything....

the jap market is full of lots of pretty stuff that adds nothing yet they all buy it in droves because its the in thing. I'm not saying this selector is rubbish but I can't see how its any better than an oem unit or even the hh thing.

just feel how smooth and lovely a nova stick moves when its not connected to the box lol

I'm not saying looks are everything but I'm not paying £700 for something IMO looks gash. I'd rather pay the money for the other one that I actually like. And I can guarantee it's 100 times better than the oem that feels like stirring soup compared to the one I pictured.

Disconnect the one in the picture from the actual box, do the same for the oem stick, and I bet they feel near as Damn it the same. 95% of shift feel is down to the box

Not sure disconnected feel has much to do with it as this does not account for the joints / connection which on the OEM unit are a little slack to say the least. You could wave a ruler around and pretend it was a gearstick and it would feel awesome with fresh air as resistance.

Take your point on the gearbox playing a large part in the "feel" though.

Under normal driving conditions (Slower shifts) you are not really going to see the benefit of an uprated linkage but in competition / track use the higher quality unit will potentially save you over revving an engine as selecting the 3rd instead of 5th is easily done in a big block nova.

if you connected the magic ruler to the box it would then feel the same as if it were a $10K stick or oem lol

Don't bother then Baz, Just buy a ruler ;)
