View Full Version : clutch cable snapped on let nova.

My clutch cable has just snapped on me on my let nova. Luckly as i was pulling into drive is there anything can be done to stop this happening i know it ls the angle they come out which doesnt help when the c20let is fitted. :thumb:

not really no.Its wear and tear have having an engine fitted that was never designed to be there unfortunately.I always used to carry a spare in mine

Know what you mean its very tight and wears cos of the angle.

that's it.I sprayed loads of grease down mine and thankfully it never snapped.

Just make sure that the bung fits nicely into the hole and not on the edge etc.

Change to a hydraulic clutch?!?

Have you done the clutch cable exit modification to allow the cable to run a little easier and at a better angle? If not it will help although a few guys I know that run Clet novas change them yearly anyhow just to prevent issues.

Yes i have done the mod suppose its been over a year thinking about since it was done. Will try greasing the next one see if it helps.

I always used to carry a spare in mine

After snapping 6 in a year, i've always carried one. Still have one in the boot now, even tho i've not snapped one in a few years...

There a **** to do... Mine snapped on my track car in the pit lane waiting to go onto Castle Coombe one year, lol funny watching me upside down and Lee in the bay frantically changing it.. Always carried a spare since then, still have it in my boot now..

I've not snapped one yet mines been a c20xe for 4yrs although I fitted a new one when engine was being fitted for peace of mind lol.
