I swaped my 1.0 out for a 1.6 and now the speedo gear don't fit back in so I assume that they uses different gears? Any ideas and does anyone have one or pics

they should be identical & interchangeable. i assume there isn't something blocking the hole & both bits turn ok

Will inspect further then, looked all clear to me. Maybe I'm being a bit too gentle

try rolling the car forwards or backwards a smidge, while your fitting it, as the diff gear might not quite be in the right spot of rotation to let it drop in properly

will try that, need to get the gear linkage sorted before then haha it's stuck in gear

You can push the body in but have the drive floating out, so make sure you've pushed the inner and outer home together.

doesnt the digi dash run off an electric signal anyway ? ... you might be lucky, and accidently made things easier for yourself lol

did the box come out of a corsa ? .. ive seen this type sensor in most of the electric ones :

Digi dash uses the transducer to turn mechanical into electric, but been having a poke about and it seems people are using them^ on the digital boxes. is that one for sale

not that particular one, but im half certain its that 'type' that fits your box. instead of the mechanical gear attached to the diff for the cable gear pickup, it has a kind of trigger wheel, with square holes in it, that the electrical sensor grabs its information from.

im not sure which pulse rating you need, i remember those dashes having a slightly different figure to the usual 6 or 15.

I really have no idea but don't it have a switch to change between them on the back of the dash?

from what people have said .. (just based on a quick look).. theres an early and a late dash, both with switches. and most people said 15 pulse is the business

Only one way to find out then i guess, bite the bullet and buy the sensor and see what happens haha

gm 9114603, 15 pulse - im sure youll find one at a breakers yard. grab the 3 pin wiring connector off the end with it.

and then wire up the, red/blue to the dash, the black to a switched live, and the brown to earth
