Right then folks dont know if you can help me resolve this query.

I made myself from 2mm carbon sheet a wiper motor bracket as wanted to make things look nice and clean.

After fitting it up and everything re connected i then find the wiper wont work.
Checked the fuse etc and all is fine.

I couldnt understand it so by trial i then reverted back to my metal bracket and after assembly the wiper is now working again.

What could be the reason for a carbon panel stopping the motor from working?
I didnt think it could be an earth issue a the unit is on rubber mounts anyway.

A quick earth lead to rule it out will only take a few moments.
It might be rubber mounted but there are steel bushes within the rubbers iirc. If the carbon is laquered it wont conduct the current through the material.

Ahhhh maybe its to do with the tab the folds up on the bottom right of the bracket which sits on top of the insert to the bush.

I will try making an earth wire to run from one of the motor screws to the rubber mount screw see if that works.

Thanks craig

The wiper motor earths through the mounting screws onto the body. You will need to run a seperate earth lead.

I found this when I went to the corsa c(may have been a b, I cant remember) set up, just made a small earth strap up.

Drill a hole behind the motor and run earth wire under the plate then a washer and bolt through eye on the body side keep it hidden then under the plate of that makes sense will look tidy then
