Will Newman phase 2s fit in a standard xe or will I need the piston pockets opening up?

pocketed pistons. good cam, can be ran on std valvetrain. built an xe for a lads westy with high comp pistons/rods, headwork, r1 carbs and tle ex manifold/system and saw 190bhp@wheels at 6.5k rpm. very useable cam

Depends how far you wanted too go tbh. To re-ring and pocket std pistons your looking at circa 200. For 30 more you could use autosprints pocketed flat top pistons + an overbore so atleast know bores are in spec and run likes of the 270s. I still avoid there cams, spring kits etc though. Or look at steel rods and pistons and eventually build a better spec head and look towards 240+ bhp.
