Hi all. Wondering if you could help me. It is a corsa b tho. Couldn't afford a nova second time around.

It's got an XE in it. The rev gauge has always flickered a little bit. But lay couple of days has got worse. And now the car stutters under load around 1500 rpm.

YouTube vid on tickover.

So the bit of cable that goes into the crank sensor is a bit exposed. Looks like the end of the sensor might have split where the cable goes into it. When I unplugged it the engine died. So I guess it is still kinda working. Maybe breaking down under load?

Am I best of getting a new one from autovaux?

Yes get a new one, make sure it's not been rubbing anywhere so it won't happen again though.

I would say so, make sure you get the right one for your as there's an early and later spec:

Fitted the new sensor today from autovaux. Car wouldn't start with it fitted. Put the old one back it. Started first time?! Any ideas. From what iv read. The fuel pump is turned on with the ecu seeing the crank sensor. So I guess it's not seeing it.

Tried a different ECU today. Still no good.
