Can you not butcher some elec adjusters if manual lamps are so hard to come accross?

My car sits on it's ar5e; even at maximum downwards adjustment the headlights wont pass the MOT - I've made HID projectors all butchered about & they've got through on an advisory due to light emitted. All projectors I've ever seen have clear secondary glass unlike a novas, hence the issue - I want to revert to just HID loosing the lenses.
