Hi Guys, Need some help with the colour on my early SR bumpers. Upol mid grey is too blue-grey no sure that Rover hurricane grey is a close match either. seen scott parkers at billing and looked good but if you hold up a painted mirror cover to my front bumper it has more brown in it.

im on with painting my bumpers at the minute as well. alot of people say the upol mid grey is a very close match to original, thats what i was going to try.
saying that i had a tin of halfords light grey bumper paint, was a little bit to light. They also do a dark grey which i think would be worth trying to be honest mate.
let us know how you get on mate.
@ scott.parker (has that worked?) how come you went for a brownish colour? is that what the snow ploughs were like originally?

anyone else got any input?
I dont think there was much consistency in the factory, below are 2 pictures I took for john of a opel grill badge and snowplough towing eye cover, both are brand new, neither has been stored in sunlight and at first glance they look the same,
The second picture however tells a different story,

Different batches different colours, all a pain in the ass to behonest.
Scotts colour is the best ives seen on an early bumper, upol is a better match for later bumpers.
What he said
Would match his lip stick lol
Best bit is that the opel badge has clearly evident overspray on the rear and its grey plastic under it lol
Is there an Opel colour code for grey bumpers?

I believe mine are rover storm grey (not hurricane) and there was a percentage of matting agents added to the paint as it was a gloss finish, the guy who did the bumpers best remember how much it was for other parts I plan to paint lol
