URGENT HELP! no spark please read

Here's the story I have a mk11.2 mert and I have fitted a 1.4 sr engine with a 1.6 head and twin 40 webber ive fitted the engine and it turns over and gets fuel but cant get a spark at all im using the original 1.2 coil square black one the 1.2 had a large black dizzy and the new engine has a small orange one ive tryed to get spark by testing at yhe king lead but nothing also the car was runing and driving this morning as a 1.2 any help appreciated

Is the dizzy pluged in ?
can you not just run 1.2 dizzy if it's blade type dizzy just knock the ball into the shaft

My old dizzy never had a plug just a red and a black wire so I cut and joined it to a plug and plugged it into new dizzy also old dizzy was like a spade and new dizzy is 2 circle pins (cam side )

It does not make it correct to cut and join the wires there not the same dizzy not wired the same just get 1.4 coil and coil loom and run it on that

if the dizzy is the 1.6 one, it isn't a true dizzy... it is a part of the injection system with a hall effect trigger & then the ign controller makes the sparks happen, and the rototr arm sends the sparks to the right place, but it can't work on its own... it is packaged in a dizzy housing for convenience, as far as i can tell... you need to use either the 1.2 or the 1.4 dizzy, whichever fits your camshaft really.

I use the black cap dizzy on 16se on carbs fits camshaft no problem

Actually I may have moded the end of the cam to get it to fit, it was a long time ago
