Fitting my 4th and fin box tonight, got myself. Low mileage, 40k f18wr, fitted the LSD I had previously purchased, just ready for fitting tonight,

Anybody want I have a guess on how long it'll last, bear in mind I do not rag it through gears, but I do allow it to pull from say 1500rpm
last box only did 3 weeks, but did have 100k on it

Should get round to putting the half shaft conversion on too as I find torque steer on the 1.7 to be something quite silly!

Shall be be removing intercooler from my cdti van too for the nova then it's just a clean up for billing!

What are you doing to them to kill them?

^^ What he said!
I've only seen the GM boxes fail due to overly keen shifting and a 5th just giving up.

Where are you? I'd like to open one of the dead boxes up for interest :)

My mate chewed through 3 f20's with a basically standard 20xe. No idea how

Its always 5th what gives up, 2 have just been teeth stripped, one actually snapped the gear off,

always seems em stop be when pulling hard from low revs

Its the low revs and massive torque from the TD that's eating boxes, TBH I would have fitted an stronger box and been done with it.

As said I've got with an other f18, shall see what happens but I do have ideas for better boxes

I have considered this, huge in size, and I guess the gear cluster cannot be swapped into my f18 casing so a mount would need to be made
