Lpg help needed

im thinking of buying a small van for work, astra/caddy sort of size. I would rather the van be petrol and most of the vans im coming across that are petrol are all lpg converted.

I know nothing about lpg really and would just like to know how reliable they are?? and if my lpg system fails will this stop my van running all together?? even when switching to petrol? or will it be a whole different set up?? is it worth getting or do you guys think it will cause more hassle that help?

I've ran a LPG'd Range Rover V8 for years, car runs well (ingition system needs to be in good condition, as LPG is @110 octane)

If the LPG system fails you can switch to petrol.

Cars run well on it, oil remains much cleaner.

Although I am not experienced with Vauxhall factory conversions.

I currently pay @ 65p a litre for LPG

I wouldn't touch a Vauxhall factory fit system myself, if something does go wrong most lpg specialists wont touch them, which means Vauxhall dealer prices.
had this with 2 vauxhall cars now.
but I run lpg on my Subaru forester and I think its great. and cheap to run as well.
as said before, it will run fine on petrol even if the lpg is empty and switches automatically.

oh and if its registerd as duel fuel you get some cash knocked off the tax, but don't forget to get the safety certificate if the owner has it.

I understand that if I run out of lpg I can swith to petrol but genuinely if a part fails or it breaks down from something in the lpg set up will this cause my petrol to stop aswell, or will it damage anything if I don't fix the lpg and run it on petrol as im not fussed wheather im using lpg or not but it does lower my insurance considerably.

Normally if there's an issue you can run on petrol, unless it's some thing like ignition failure that would kill both
