Stevenage to moorends 144 miles, collected a mainly stripped vectra v6 no interior or headlights and by time we set off was getting dark and raining had no wipers and ended up wi a big torch covered in red electrical tape strapped to the rear spoiler was an adventure lol

Bought my old Astra van from somewhere in North Gloucestershire, it died after a few miles. So bought a fixed bar and towed it using Mrs Hobbits Astra and her sitting in the van all the way to Cornwall avoiding motorways. Was 170 odd miles iirc.

furthest is probably around 80 miles

two trips i can remember, one on a pole in the pitch black in a rolling shell, no brakes, lights etc even worse, no driveshafts/cv's to hold everything together!!

another from glencoe to glasgow after i blew an engine. i remember my heart rate going up a bit as my mate towing in his impreza pulled out for 5 lorry overtakes down the a82 doing 100+....on a rope....

the things you do when you are young and stupid lol ive also been towed home 15 miles in a write off with the front wheel stuffed away back into the wheel arch and unable to spin or steer, ruined the wheel, made a mess of the roads and burnt the life out my mates clutch!

wouldnt dream of repeating any of them now but i'd happily tow an a frame or on a pole for long distances 100+ miles

About 5 miles on a rope with 2 bolts in EACH wheel when the police recovered one of my cars that was stolen in 2005 lol

Drove the van of death back from central London to my house in the midlands with no brakes at all, not even a handbrake, that was an interesting Sunday afternoon drive.
