Before I start I have searched the forum and articles for the advice and can see lots of relevant stuff but not exactly what I need. That could be because I've not looked hard enough or it can't be done.

So, I have machined nova knuckles with big bearings and F20 drive flange. I have just acquired a F13 SCCR box with Quaife gearkit and ATB diff. Obviously I need to connect the two but the question is how? The car is to be a tarmac rally car running E16SE on 45 webers approx 150bhp, so I want good uprated shafts. My options I think are..

- Replace diff for plate diff with big side gears and run big shafts e.g. HHMS or Protec
- make up shafts with 22 splines on inner to take Nova CV into box and 33? spline outer to take bigger outer CV into hub.

Elite Transmissions in Stoke will make bespoke shafts cheaper than the HHMS option but still

Is there a way of making up what I need inexpensively from conversion shafts or other available bits? Would I have have to modify the outer CV at all! Will the shaft length be as standard, I'm told i need correct plunge?? Any advice very welcome!!

Or 22 spline Gte shafts with Gte inners and mk2 cav outlet cv joints

Lol did have another thought mk4 Astra shafts on my x18 run small block inners f17 box not sure on the splines for the shaft but runs big block outer

The shafts I have are standard GSi but 22 spline inner and 28 outer. Apparently two types fitted 22/22 and 22/28.

no,no no.Youre confusing mk2 cav inners for the f20/big block inner fit
Basically you need a conversion shaft bespokely making as far as I am aware.

You can buy conversion shafts that running a standard nova outer cv and standard big block inner cv correct ?
So would a standard nova inner and big block outer be the same shaft it will defo fit together that's for sure

Phoned LMF on Friday and apparently the conversion shafts they do couldn't be reversed so to speak...small block inner, big block outer

No,totally different.

Replace the diff. You have uprated hubs so you need the uprated shafts or they are your next weak point along with the inner CV joints.

Did they say why ?

can you run a big block diff in a f13 casing

You get the diff built up with larger side gears AFAIK

Plate diff with big side gears seem to be the obvious route but £750 for the diff and then £800 for a pair of GKN shafts out another big dent in the budget...which I've blown already! And still no engine or seats & belts etc. hence the search for an effective but cheaper option

Just use normal big block conversion shafts.

No probs, now to get the CV's and diff. And sell me the Quaife ATB for much cheapness lol

Id put a wanted ad on Britishrally.co.uk for the diff.

I used to run an F10 Quaiffe SCCR with ZF "F20" sidegear diff and then run std Astra GTE driveshafts in the Astra. Then upgraded to a Quaife F20 box and HHMS / ZF diff instead with Std shafts still. Im running a 1400 8v at the moment but hopefully will be a 1600 16v on bodies next year in this car.
